Seamless installation in record time: meeting critical deadlines without disruption
A commercial customer required a fast and reliable technical solution. The installation was completed in just one week, working 24/7 across four teams, without disrupting office operations—showcasing our ability to deliver under pressure.
The situation
Capital Tower is a commercial tower located in Bogotá, Colombia, housing the headquarters of a financial institution, cafés, and retail stores.
In 2023, through our partner MTS, we began jointly developing a project based on our Reality Capture technology, which uses advanced methods to create accurate 3D models of physical environments. It is mainly used to improve processes in sales, design, and maintenance of hydraulic installations.
After the Reality Capture, it became evident that there was high potential for replacing the old equipment, as the existing pumps were very old, noisy, and had control system issues (differential pressure, pressure switches, and direct start), contributing to pipe material fatigue and occasional ruptures.
Grundfos selected the equipment and prepared a proposal including high-efficiency IE5 motors. MTS presented it to Capital Tower, and after negotiation, the project was confirmed. The key differentiators were the reliability and efficiency of Grundfos equipment.
The solution
Specially designed equipment was proposed and implemented to address the identified issue. This solution was selected for its adaptability, efficiency, and reliability, meeting the requirements identified together with the customer.
During installation and commissioning, the Service team provided specialized support, ensuring each stage met the customer’s technical and operational standards. The implementation was backed by detailed technical knowledge shared internally, highlighting the suitability of the equipment for the intended application.
The building has two towers, and the applications were Pressure Boosting and Lifting.

- 2 – Hydro Multi-E 2CRE10-5
- 2 – Hydro Multi-E 2CRE10-9
The project also includes hardware and a six-month free subscription to Grundfos Connect.
There were three major factors in the success of the solution: comfort, reliability, and the ability to reduce maintenance costs due to the age of the equipment. It’s also important to highlight that our control system truly solves most of the problems clients face regarding energy consumption, pipe fatigue, and installation comfort."
Special challenges
A major challenge during installation was the limited time available.
MTS depended on budget approvals closing before year-end and had only one week for installation. Work was carried out 24/7 with four work fronts.
Since the offices remained operational, water cuts during working hours were not allowed. Temporary equipment was supplied, and tasks were carried out at midnight to avoid affecting office staff.
The result
Thanks to the solution implementation, the customer has experienced satisfactory equipment performance, reduced energy consumption due to system efficiency and control, and significantly less noise and vibration.
Additionally, the customer has not needed any maintenance to date, confirming the reliability of Grundfos solutions. The delivered solution met technical and operational expectations, showing stable and effective performance since integration.
The relationship with the customer has strengthened, paving the way for future collaborations based on innovation, technical support, and measurable results.
