For Kredsløb, efficient district heating starts with knowing what is happening across the network. With Grundfos iGRID, Christoffer Krunderup Sørensen and the team now have access to real-time pressure and temperature data. This gives them a stronger basis for optimising operation, reducing energy use and making better use of the available renewable energy.
The challenge
Kredsløb operates a large and complex district heating network. Pressure and temperature must be balanced continuously to maintain a stable heat supply. At the same time, the utility wanted to phase out its existing solution based on APL lines and replace it with something more flexible and better prepared for future requirements. The aim was to gain a clearer picture of how the network performs under actual operating conditions.
With measurement points in the right locations, Kredsløb can document network conditions, identify opportunities for optimisation and build a stronger basis for reducing energy use.
The iGRID solution gives us a complete overview of our large and complex network. With the new box products, we are ready for a more secure future with NIS2-compliant products.
The solution
Kredsløb has implemented an iGRID solution comprising iGRID Building Measure Points, iGRID Pit Measure Points and Grundfos Connect iGRID. The utility is also taking part in a field test of the new iGRID Pit Measure Points and already has around 60 measurement points installed across its network.
The solution continuously measures temperature and pressure, with the data available in Grundfos Connect iGRID. This makes it easier for the team to monitor operation, respond to changes and collect data where it is needed.
