Serving on the board since 2023 and as Chair since 2025, Claus Aagaard is a senior business executive with over 30 years’ global experience in several consumer product and service categories.
Claus has been with Mars, Inc. since 2001. In 2016, he was appointed Vice President and CFO, where he has responsibility for Finance, Treasury, Strategy, Corporate Development/M&A, Digital Transformation and Shared Services across the Mars group. Prior to this, Claus was CFO of Mars’ Petcare business division from 2009-2016, where he drove many years of exceptional growth, strategic portfolio expansion, financial performance and value creation.
Before joining Mars, Claus was with Arla Foods for 11 years, 8 of those in the UK where he was heavily involved in establishing and turning around the significant investment the group had made in the country.
Claus serves on the board of the non-profit Bread for the City (Washington DC) caring for people living in poverty, and since 2019, he has co-chaired the US chapter of the Accounting for Sustainability network established by HM King Charles III in 2004. He is also an Advisory Board Member, Program on Stakeholder Innovation & Management, at Yale School of Management.
Claus holds both a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Graduate Diploma in Finance and Accounting from the Business School in his native Herning, Denmark.
