A rich history since 1945
Our story is not just about a water pump company that grew to be one of the biggest in the world.

1945 - Innovation begins
Poul Due Jensen builds his first pump, Foss 1, for a local farmer – beginning a journey of global growth in the following decades.
1978 - Efficiency focus
Niels Due Jensen takes over, driving advances in electronics, computing and solar pumps in pursuit of ever-greater efficiency.
1991 - Smart pumps
X99, the world’s first intelligent pump, is launched, ushering in a new period of digital, energy-saving technological innovation.
2025 - Innovation ignites
We strengthen our ambitions, pioneering intelligent water and climate solutions globally to shape our industry in innovation, circularity and net-zero impact.

High‑tech HVAC and water solutions – plus energy and system optimisation – to help commercial buildings meet their water and climate ambitions.
Domestic Building Services
Energy‑efficient pumps and water solutions for the home, across heating, HVAC OEM, hot‑water, boosting and wastewater – supporting more sustainable, comfortable living.
Industry
Premium pumping and water‑treatment systems with value‑adding digital solutions – to optimise industrial utilities and processes while enabling customers to reach their water and climate ambitions.
Water Utility
Intelligent pumping and digital solutions that optimise water management and treatment – from groundwater and irrigation to distribution, wastewater collection, transport and intake.
Customers
From installers to distributors, engineers to system builders, facility managers to operations managers, technical directors to contractors, and service providers to homeowners – all our customers have distinct needs and concerns. We work closely and openly with them all.
Three groups – distributors, installers and consulting engineers – often shape outcomes most, because they specify, select, install and troubleshoot our products. Whoever you’ll be working with, aim for the Grundfos Experience: listen, solve and deliver consistently.
