200 million possibilities to help homeowners save on energy

Approximately 200 million circulator pumps of varying ages are in need of replacement for more energy efficient versions. We see this as 200 million possibilities to save energy and empower societies.

Parts of the world are experiencing an unfolding energy crisis that is putting the energy supply so many rely on under constant threat. The imbalance between supply and demand is causing energy prices to soar – and it is taking its toll on homeowners around the world, particularly in Europe.

The solutions and opportunities to help people save energy in homes and buildings are there, but we need to drive awareness to them.

We know that around the world, there are approximately 200 million circulator pumps of varying ages in need of replacement. 100 million are in Europe alone. If all these pumps were replaced by new energy-efficient pumps, power consumption would fall by what is equivalent to Portugal's total electricity consumption. We see these as 200 million possibilities to save energy.

“Given the energy crisis backdrop, we see huge potential to help people save energy by adopting more energy efficient applications. However, we need policy support to inspire change and drive awareness, so these 200 million possibilities become a reality. And homeowners need this support now. That’s why we are diving deep into the energy crisis and the available solutions in this platform – to inform, educate, and empower people with information so they can save energy in their homes and buildings,” says Morten Bach Jensen, EVP and CEO of Domestic Building Services.
