Dual apprenticeship workshop opens in Hungary

Students attending a dual apprenticeship at Grundfos Hungary can look forward to an even better learning experience, as we have just opened our innovative apprentice workshop in Tatabanya.

“The workshop is essential for the secondary school dual education system. Dual education is very important because in that way the students can gain a lot of experience that will later be indispensable for them,” says László Török, Senior Manufacturing Director.

A pioneer supporter
Students work under the supervision of professionals and accomplish real production process with the aim to learn crafts, self-management and collaboration skills. This includes how to work economically, plan their own working schedules and adjust to colleagues.

In 2018 alone, Grundfos Hungary employed around 150 students within the dual education system, which combines apprenticeships in a company and education at a vocational school.

“We see ourselves as a pioneer supporter of dual education and students' future,” adds László Török.

15 school contracts
Our company in Hungary has contractual agreements with 15 schools, including 11 secondary level schools and five universities. Students can participate in an internship during the school year or in the summer.

73 percent of the new workshop’s financing comes from a governmental grant. Grundfos Group supplied the remaining amount.
