Companies target $100 million investment over the next two years to support water resilience, watershed health, and community impact across the Colorado River Basin

NEW YORK, September 21, 2026 – Grundfos has joined nine other organizations in committing $32 million through the Colorado River Basin Collaborative (CRBC), a landmark initiative aimed at accelerating investment in one of North America's most critical and stressed watersheds.

The collaborative, co-championed by Grundfos, Amazon, and The Coca-Cola Foundation, seeks to mobilize $100 million in funding over the next two years. If achieved, the initiative would represent the largest corporate water conservation investment in a single U.S. watershed.

The Colorado River Basin supplies water to nearly 40 million people and supports approximately 16 million jobs across the American West and Mexico. The river also underpins an estimated $1.4 trillion in annual economic activity. Prolonged drought, climate pressures, and growing demand have increased the urgency for action across the basin.

Funding from participating organizations will support projects designed to improve water security, strengthen watershed health, enhance agricultural resilience, and deliver measurable environmental and community benefits.

Participating companies include Aldi, Amazon, Ecolab, EdgeConneX, Grundfos, The Coca-Cola Foundation, Vantage, and Xylem.

The initiative is coordinated by the Water Resilience Coalition, a private sector-led organization advancing collective action in water-stressed basins around the world. The Climate Pledge is helping mobilize participating companies around the growing connection between climate resilience and water security.

The Colorado River Basin Collaborative demonstrates how public, private, and nonprofit partners can work together to support long-term water resilience while helping protect the communities, industries, agricultural systems, and ecosystems that depend on the river.
