Grundfos contributes to Danish success

Denmark has the most ambitious climate- and energy goals and some of the most innovative, green companies. Together, this has led to praise from a high place, when the world-renowned environmental organization WWF on September 21st awarded Denmark with its special prize, Gift to the Earth.

- Denmark is showing that it is possible to promote a sustainable society while at the same time securing economical payoff and welfare. It is beacons like this, we need globally, says Jim Leape, International Secretary General of WWF.

Among other things, Denmark is highlighted for its many successful clean-tech companies, for instance Grundfos, who have managed to make good business out of green solutions.

At the same time, Grundfos is an example of a company, who not only works with energy-wise business, but who is also concerned about its own effects on the environment.

- For several years, we have been working on meet the climate challenges. Among other things by reducing our own energy consumption, as well as launching a Group-wide water strategy in order to ensure that we use our resources as efficiently as possible, says Karen Touborg, Manager in Group Environment, Health and Safety.

It was the Prime Minister of Denmark, Helle Thorning-Schmidt, who accepted the award on behalf of Denmark.
