Grundfos in Russia received Royal Award

Grundfos' General Manager on the large Russian market, Mr Victor Dementiev, on 20 November received Hins Royal Highness Prince Henrik's Honorary Award for his impressive contributions to promoting Danish exports. The ceremony took place in St. Petersburgh and was performed by His Royal Highness Prince Joachim.

Grundfos' history on the Russian market goes back to the Soviet regime. However, the first proper Grundfos company in Russia was not established until 1 January 1999, when a sales company based in Moscow was opened. Later on investments were made in a factory in Istra, near Moscow.

Russia today is a vital market for Grundfos. In fact, this country is where the largest turnover and growth is found. Turnover is 200 m Euro and the company today employs almost 500 staff. Grundfos has several more plans for the Russian market. Investments are made in several sales companies in the country, and in addition production and distribution centres will be expanded next year. Investments amount to DKK 250m.

- This strong position is to a large extent due to Victor Dementiev, who has been working at Grundfos since August 1999. He has been the driving force in the development of Grundfos' business and is best known in-house as "Mr Russia". Mr Dementiev has a deep understanding of Russian culture and business life. His dedication and skills in developing the company deserves attention, which is now granted with the honorary award from the Danish Export Association, said Group Executive Vice Pres., Søren Ø. Sørensen.
