Grundfos spotted international students

The competition went on to the very last minute. In China, USA and Denmark, 36 teams of engineering and economics students were competing to make the finals of Grundfos Challenge, which takes place next year in March. 12 teams are now a step further in the competition, where the main prize is 2 x DKK 75.000.
This is the seventh time Grundfos has challenged students to compete on science, teamwork and innovation – with an additional Grundfos angle. This year the competition has been expanded with two new countries and a prequalification, which gives access to the finals next year.

And the students worked hard until the early morning hours, right up until the teams were to hand in their assignments.

- Grundfos Challenge gives the students a unique chance to put the theory from their education into practice. They do so by taking their best shot at providing an innovative solution on a real-life case defined by Grundfos. At the same time we have an eye open for future talents. They know that and that increases the pressure on them, tells Lisbet Thyge Frandsen, Group Senior Vice President for People & Strategy.

Increased market, increased presence
Grundfos Challenge is based on an authentic case. This year the assignment was to make an innovative proposal on how technology can help to bring about even bigger savings in power consumption while cutting down on water usage.
The 12 teams that have now come a step further in the competition will compete for the prize of DKK 75.,000 and a special Innovation Prize of DKK 15,000.

- Grundfos is growing all over the world, so by globalizing Grundfos Challenge we can establish a broader sourcing platform for attracting the most talented people in the regions where our business is growing, explains Lisbet Thyge Frandsen, and continues:

- Grundfos has development centers all over the world – including in these three countries, and such an event also gives our developers alternative views on how we can find solutions to the challenges we face. With a competition like this we have a chance to meet the talents and show them that Grundfos is an attractive company to be a part of, says Lisbet Thyge Frandsen.
