Innovative pumps strengthen Grundfos in the European market
09-02-2012
Record low energy consumption, the best quality in the market, and a user-friendly wireless interface. These are some of the features of the new pumps that will soon be launched in the market by Grundfos. A new state-of-the-art generation of circulator pumps will contribute to strengthening the pump company’s position as a world leading pump manufacturer.
Best in class
- We are setting new standards for high-technology and energy-efficient circulator pumps performing much better than required by regulations. Also in the future. We already have pumps meeting the coming energy requirements of the EU. But we want to go even further, said Peter Røpke, Group Executive Vice President for Business Development, adding that the product family will be the broadest and most service-friendly as well as the most easily integrated product series in the market.
Strong new products
The three first products to see the light of day are a thoroughly improved version of ALPHA2, a brand new MAGNA3, and a wireless interface, GRUNDFOS GO, enabling the user to communicate through an iPhone, iPad or a Smartphone, partly for controlling the products, partly for gaining back-end access to technical data from Grundfos.
All pumps are equipped with the intelligent Auto adapt system which automatically ensures optimum operation, Mr Røpke explained.
- With the new products we are getting a very broad product portfolio with the highest level of user-friendliness in the market with great benefits for our customers, who will get easier access to service, he said.
Attractive market
The background of the new product series is, among other things, new tough energy requirements of the EuP Directive, requiring new circulator pumps sold after 2013 to consume less energy. In the region of 100 million circulator pumps in the EU countries will have to be replaced over the following 10 or 15 years, Søren Ø. Sørensen, Group Executive Vice President for Group Sales and Service estimates.
- By using the new pumps from Grundfos, consumers may save large amounts of energy and, at the same time, contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions for the benefit of the environment. For Grundfos the replacement of the pumps will give access to a very attractive market of close to 6 billion Euros in the coming years, said Mr Sørensen.
The first products will be available in the market in the course of the summer of 2012 and subsequently other products will be introduced.
