International award to the Grundfos Talent Engine Programme

Grundfos won the award for Talent Innovation which aligns with the vision of the whole organisation. Grundfos was one of only three European companies that were awarded. The criteria for the award were impact on the organisation, impact on the individual, innovation of talent programme design, and adaptability of the programme in the organisation.

A unique programme
Eddie Blass from the panel of judges said.
- From potential to performance. Most organisations are now working with fairly well developed talent management processes, from identifying talent through to development to deployment, but the reality of drawing out top performance from such high potentials is not often realised. Grundfos however has managed to create a talent programme that as a whole has been pipeline of global talents to take on critical innovation, specialists and leadership roles without recruiting externally.
Eddie Blass is an associate dean at the University of Hertfordshire. The university is based in Hatfield just north of London.

A giant leap forward
To Grundfos People & Strategy and to Grundfos as a whole the recognition will help raise the profile of the programme both inside Grundfos, across Denmark and internationally.
- Winning an Innovation award for one of our strategic people related approaches is a great recognition for all combined efforts and contribution of a significant number of people inside Grundfos. It shows also the value of getting external inspiration, our partner A&DC having brought us their extensive professional experience and competence throughout the entire process, from idea to execution of the so-called Talent Centres. The Innovation award should moreover be an encouragement to all of us to innovate beyond our products, demonstrating that innovation can happen in each single corner of Grundfos, thus contributing to the realization of our common dream, the Innovation Intent, said Corine Danner from Grundfos People & Strategy.

Best practice in Europe
The HR Leadership Alliance's Annual Excellence in Talent Management Awards took place on the evening of Nov 10th at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, to celebrate and acknowledge the organisations in Europe, Asia and Africa who have been helping drive Talent Management forward. Award winners flying in from Europe, Africa and all over Asia represented some of the real thought leaders in Talent Management.

Will Mitchell, director of consulting from Grundfos partner A&DC said.

- It was reassuring to me that while there were many awards for best practice in Asian/African countries, the European category was limited to three awards and Grundfos won the award for Talent Innovation which aligns with the vision of the whole organisation. Grundfos has developed a more dynamic organisational culture to meet the future challenge. The talent Engine Programme represents a major culture shift for Grundfos.

In Europe the panel of judges consisted of: Eddie Blass - Associate Dean at University of Hertfordshire. Kai Peters, CEO, Ashridge, Petra Wilton, CEO, Chartered Management Institute. Eric Cornuel, CEO, European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD)
