Grundfos receives prize for "Good Environmental Management"

The justification for the award places particular emphasis on the substantial resource savings brought about by the company ’s eco-management and product development. This includes measures such as the reduction in the electricity consumption of Grundfos products throughout their lifetime and minimization of the resource consumption in production.

Grundfos has achieved a great deal in terms of environmental improvements. Newly-developed Grundfos products use up to 57 percent less electricity than their predecessors - and material consumption has been reduced by up to 17 percent.

"The environmental optimisation of Grundfos’ products has not involved any kind of compromise on product quality or operating stability," states the justification for the awarding of the Environmental Improvement Award.

The competition has been organised by the Association of Engineers in Denmark for the European Commission. The judging committee have also nominated Grundfos Management A/S to participate in the subsequent and equivalent competition at European level, to be held in Spain in the summer.
