Sarlin Pumps purchased by Grundfos
Denmark - Finland
The Grundfos Group take over of Sarlin Pumps of Finland has now been confirmed by the authorities and thereby the Grundfos pump manufacturing Group, has reaffirmed its strategic objective of becoming a leading player within the wastewater pump business.
A contract confirming the purchase has been signed. In the future the Sarlin Group will focus on the business areas of Beamex, Sarlin Furnaces, Sarlin-Hydor, and Sarlin Automation.
Sarlin Pumps bring to their new owner complementary waste-water products, service, and competence, making Grundfos the natural choice for customers, including wholesalers, utility companies, and contractors looking for complete pumping solutions in the framework of waste-water pumps sized up to 600 kW.
Grundfos' global marketing capabilities and identified synergies will be reflected in the future structure of the company's consolidated waste-water business.
Niels Due Jensen, Grundfos Group President, is delighted with the purchase: "Sarlin Pumps are recognised worldwide for high-quality products and good service. We see this not only as a perfect match in a commercial sense, our two organisations also have similar histories and shared values," Due Jensen said.
"Purchasing Sarlin Pumps means that overnight Grundfos moves from being the supplier of waste-water products primarily aimed at the building service sector into becoming a full-line supplier of pumps and services including industrial and utility applications."
Sarlin Pumps, founded in Finland in 1946, are the pump division of the Sarlin Group. With subsidiaries in the UK, Spain, Poland, and Estonia, the pump division reached net sales of 35m Euro in 1999 and employs a staff of 250. Sarlin's main products include large submersible pumps, pumping stations, and control and monitoring systems.
Like all Grundfos production companies, Sarlin Pumps have been certificed according to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
