Societal recognition for initiatives in Hungary

When the “For a Sustainable Future Awards 2020” were handed out, Grundfos was among the receivers. Our response to COVID-19 was what triggered the recognition.

When COVID-19 hit societies around the world, Grundfos went into action to help and protect employees as well as support the local societies, we operate in. This was also the fact in Hungary. Among other things, we initiated support programmes for our colleagues, including help with child care and increased flexibility during the lock-down periods.

Furthermore, our colleagues in Hungary started initiatives to support local hospitals, among other things by donating ventilators to local hospitals in Tatabánya and Székesfehérvár.

“What we have done is inspired by and aligned with our Grundfos values and our ambitions to protect the health and well-being of our employees while claiming a responsibility for our surrounding society,” says Olivér Szundy, Plant Director for the Tatabánya plant in Hungary.

The actions did not go unnoticed, when the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary recognised great initiatives with their “For a Sustainable Future Awards 2020”. Grundfos took home the Social Responsibility Award.

The award was received by Olivér Szundy, who said:

“This award is due to the work and commitment from all the employees here in Hungary. It feels good to get recognition from the outside, showing that what we are doing during the pandemic is right. We are also proud that this recognition places us among the frontrunners within this field in Hungary.”
