Using dialogue to create synergy

The object of the meeting was to strengthen a dialogue which may benefit both parties.

In the pump trade it is a well-known fact that extensive development and innovative pump technology cannot stand alone, but have to be translated into obvious advantages for the customers. This will only happen if Grundfos and the customers understand each other and together find the best solutions.

The meeting between Grundfos and the customers took place in a 68 sq m conference room on wheels, equipped with interactive computer technology and demonstration models with the latest product news. This equipment offered the best opportunity to exchange experience and knowledge concerning the correct sizing and optimum application of the products.

Specially trained staff on a long tour Hattersheim was one of the stops on a long tour around Europe in the specially equipped truck, staffed by experts from Grundfos Group Headquarters in Denmark as well as staff from the local Grundfos companies who had been specially trained for the exchange of experiences with customers.

The truck, covering a total of 35,000 kilometres on the tour, is an important element of a new Grundfos concept called Flow Thinking. The idea behind this concept is to generate better understanding between Grundfos’ own staff and consulting engineers and contractors, through better communication and closer co-operation. 

Visiting the Flow Thinking truck in Hattersheim, consulting engineer, Helmut Klein had his first impression confirmed of Grundfos as a competent partner. "Even with many years of experience it is important to brush up one’s knowledge of new rules and methods," he says.
