WaterAid joins forces with Grundfos to tackle the global water crisis

Both WaterAid and Grundfos have a shared vision of helping to provide  sustainable water to the developing world and of reaching everyone, everywhere with clean water by 2030.

Grundfos will support WaterAid by providing advice on the use and maintenance of its water systems in some of the world’s poorest communities. Both will also work together to come up with innovative solutions to ensure the communities where we work have a lasting supply of clean water.

This collaboration will see more people around the world get clean water in an affordable and sustainable way, through the use of solar-powered systems and other innovative technologies that  last,” says Barbara Frost, WaterAid’s Chief Executive.

Worldwide, 663 million people in the world still do not have access to clean water and more than 2.4 billion do not have access to basic sanitation, with devastating results.Each day, nearly 1,000 children under five die of diarrhoeal diseases related to the lack of these basic rights.

“Our water technology can make a true difference by bringing water to people everywhere. We have the necessary hardware and knowledge to remedy some of the grave water issues, the world is facing. Therefore, we must take responsibility and work to solve these challenges. Together with WaterAid, we can use each other’s competencies to reach more people with water,” says Mads Nipper, CEO and Group President at Grundfos.

In addition to helping bring clean water to some of the world’s poorest communities, WaterAid and Grundfos will also work together to advocate for universal access to water within the next 14 years, as part of the  promise of the new UN Sustainable Development Goals.
