User interface of the ALPHA GO

Learn how to navigate the ALPHA GO range's control panels, switch between control modes, and unlock advanced features using the Grundfos GO app.

In this module, you’ll gain an overview of the ALPHA GO range’s control panel and control modes.

Let’s begin with the control panel for the ALPHA2 GO. The selection button allows installers to easily switch between the Proportional Pressure...Constant Pressure...and Constant Curve control modes and their settings, allowing for simple and precise configuration. Advanced setup will be highlighted when the pump has been commissioned using the Grundfos GO app.

The control panel provides clear feedback on system performance, showing the circulator’s power - head - and flow, making it easier to monitor and adjust setting.
The units indicator to the right of the control panel ensures precise read-out data by displaying three different units. Only one unit will be shown at a time.

The connect button enables seamless pairing with the Grundfos GO app, unlocking additional tools for Guided Setup and system optimisation.

The Lock icon displays when the user interface has been locked, to protect pump settings, through the Grundfos GO app. Once the pump is locked, it can only be unlocked by connecting to the Grundfos GO app.

The control panel power save mode will activate after 15 minutes of inactivity on both ALPHA1 GO and ALPHA2 GO. The pumps will go into power save mode and turn off the display readout to reduce energy consumption during idle periods. Control modes and settings will be lit during power save mode. To reactivate the pump display, push any of the buttons on the display. The display sleep mode can be disabled in the Grundfos GO app.

Now let’s look at ALPHA1 GO. Just like the ALPHA2 GO, the selection button allows you to easily switch between the Proportional Pressure... Constant Pressure... Constant Curve control modes, as well as their three respective settings, and the advanced mode, which the Grundfos GO app will guide you on how to set up.
This mode is used for direct replacement or the replication of existing pump settings.

To enable this mode, simply press the toggle button for 10 seconds. You will then be able to use the selection button to cycle through curve numbers to find the one that the app recommends.

Now let’s explore the ALPHA GO range’s control modes and how to identify them on the user interface. Constant Pressure. Recommended for underfloor heating applications, it maintains a constant differential pressure regardless of flow demand, making it ideal for systems with minimal pressure loss. It ensures stable, efficient performance and is indicated by the underfloor heating icon on the interface.

Proportional Pressure.

Recommended for heating systems using thermostatic radiator valves, otherwise known as TRVs, it adjusts the differential pressure based on variations in flow, maintaining consistent pressure at radiator valves to ensure comfort while minimising energy use. It is shown with the radiator icon on the interface.

Constant Curve.

The pump runs at a Constant Curve, independent of the actual flow demand in the system. The ALPHA1 GO and ALPHA2 GO operate in Constant Curve when neither the Constant Pressure nor Proportional Pressure control modes are highlighted.

AUTOADAPT.

An intelligent control mode for ALPHA2 GO that optimises performance by adjusting the setpoint based on the actual heating demand of the system. AUTOADAPT is available for both Proportional Pressure and Constant Pressure control modes, removing the need to manually select the setting.
