Question: What kind of maintenance is required for a lifting station?

What kind of maintenance is required for Grundfos SOLOLIFT2, and how often should it be performed?

Regular maintenance for Grundfos SOLOLIFT2 includes

  • visual inspections
  • checking for leaks or blockages
  • cleaning filters
  • ensuring the pumps are operating correctly

The frequency of maintenance depends on the usage and the specific model. We recommend that the operation and pipe connections are checked at least once a year.

If the lifting station is connected to a washing machine or kitchen sink, we recommend that you check the float switch unit every six months for fibres and grease or fat so relevant for SOLOLIFT2 C-3 and SOLOLIFT2 D-2.

How do I clean and disinfect my Grundfos SOLOLIFT2 pump?

The normal cleaning procedure of the toilet should be good enough for the system. Flush twice after regular toilet cleaning. If you need to clean the pump, see below how to.

How do I clean my Grundfos SOLOLIFT2 pump?

  1. Turn off the power to the pump and unplug it.
  2. Remove the pump/motor unit from the mounting bracket.
  3. Clean the impeller and pump housing using a soft brush and water.
  4. Reinstall the pump and restore power.

How often should maintenance be performed on the Grundfos SOLOLIFT2 pump?

  1. Grundfos recommends an annual check for SOLOLIFT2 pumps to work correctly and on unusual operation cleaning might be necessary.
  2. While cleaning the impeller, pump housing, tank and float switch, the parts should be inspected.
  3. Promptly replace any worn-out or damaged parts.

How do I know when it is time to replace the pump?

The lifespan of a Grundfos SOLOLIFT2 pump can vary depending on the model and usage. Signs that it may be time to replace the pump can include decreased performance, frequent breakdowns, and signs of wear or damage to the motor or impeller.
