Can the SP pumps also be operated in a horizontal position?
SP submersible pumps with a Grundfos or other submersible motor can be operated in any position from horizontal to vertical. The motor is arranged below the pump. A cooling jacket is generally required for these installation positions.
Do I have to follow the instructions for Grundfos pumps?
Yes, absolutely. The installation and operating instructions contain basic instructions which must be followed in connection with the installation, operation, and maintenance of the system. Hence, they must be read by the installer and the relevant personnel/owner prior to installation and commissioning. In addition, they must be available to personnel on site at all times.
Does the built-in excess temperature protection of the UPS pump need to be used?
If excess temperature protection is not properly connected or bridged, the pump may be permanently damaged. In addition, this will also void the pump's warranty.
Does the SQ/SQE have a soft start?
Yes, the pump has an integrated soft start feature in order to reduce start-up current, thus assuring even, continuous acceleration.
Does the SQ/SQE need to be manually reset after a certain number of automatic restart attempts?
In the event of a fault, the SQ will perform an unlimited number of restart attempts. As soon as the fault is no longer present, the pump will return to normal operation.
