What if end-of-life for your circulators was just a new beginning? Our ground-breaking Take Back scheme makes it easy for you to extend product life and help the industry optimise resources, minimise water consumption, and reduce CO2 emissions.
Being sustainable is no longer an optional extra, it’s a fundamental necessity. If we don’t change the way we produce and operate, our planet’s finite resources will run out. We need to find ways of working that benefit business and reduce our collective environmental impact.
As a global manufacturer, we take our responsibility to manage our products throughout their entire lifetime very seriously. Instead of discarding products that have reached their end-of-life, we want to reuse as much valuable material as possible. It doesn’t just make good business sense – it helps reduce unnecessary waste and optimise resource use.
We make it easy for you to become circular
Take Back offers a simple way for your business to give end-of-life circulators new life. The aim is to continue reusing components as much as possible throughout their lifecycle, creating new and more efficient pumps with remanufactured components*. It’s a straightforward process where we take care of everything for you:
We collect your old pumps and return them to our factories in Denmark or the UK. Here, they are disassembled so we can salvage rotors and several other components and use them for remanufacturing – and our setup ensures that all components perform as good as new in terms of quality and functionality. We also collaborate with waste management companies to make sure we safely recycle materials that can’t be remanufactured.
Participation enhances your sustainability reporting
Your participation is a valuable contribution to our industry’s sustainability transition – and it’s an opportunity to show how you’re making a difference. Our Take Back scheme also provides documentation outlining the positive impact of your participation. In addition, you get the opportunity to take part in co-branding to promote your efforts – like we are doing with Worcester Bosch and NIBE.
"The Grundfos Take Back Programme aligns with our commitment to sustainability and our efforts toward achieving material efficiency and waste reduction. *The remanufactured pumps will be sold in agreement with the customer, and exclusively by Grundfos in addition to standard portfolio offerings.
**Third party verified Grundfos take back LCA report. LCA stands for Life Cycle Assessment, which compares conventional recycling with our take-back program. The LCA refers to the disassembly process in Denmark.
