The new ALPHA2 GO circulator pump and the updated Grundfos GO app with Guided Setup make it possible to commissioning the circulator pump in just 2-3 minutes so that with the least possible energy consumption, there is exactly the heat on site that is needed. The installation and replacement of both stand-alone and integrated circulator pumps have been significantly simplified.
"The new ALPHA2 GO is a real win for us as installers, for wholesalers and for homeowners," Thomas Eggertsen states. "It's a super easy solution to work with, which – despite a more simplified range – covers more products. For example, if I just make sure to have a single ALPHA2 GO variant in two port-to-port lengths and an ALPHA Plug adapter in my van as standard, I will be able to replace almost any circulator pump on the first customer visit – both for integrated and stand-alone solutions." Therefore, Thomas Eggertsen expects that in the future he will make the company's vans 'stock-based'.
It will fit very well into our focus on sustainable behaviour. Then we can save a lot of time on single trips to the wholesalers, who can also look forward to extra turnover when we no longer have to spend time ordering spare parts and replacement pumps from the various OEMs.
The ALPHA2 GO can also replace integrated circulator pumps
Most integrated circulator pumps in district heating units, heat pumps and gas boilers can be replaced without waiting time for spare parts. "When we scan the product number or data matrix of an old circulator pump, the Grundfos GO app recommends an ALPHA2 GO replacement. We are even told if we can just change the pump head, which is a huge help – not least in the integrated, and often very compact units," says the Viby installer, who also emphasises that with the ALPHA2 GO, there can be no more fumbling with loose wires during installation. "With an ALPHA Plug adapter, it is quite easy to connect the connector on the old circulator pump to the ALPHA2 GO, and four allen screws have replaced the hassle with large pipe wrenches that struggle with stuck unions. It may sound like a detail, but it is certainly an important detail when space is tight, lighting is poor, and the hands are not in size small."
"Everything we wanted!"
Thomas Eggertsen has employed very experienced installers in his company, and he is also a seasoned professional himself. He was therefore excited to see what was hidden in the invitation he received a few years ago, when Grundfos invited him to a meeting with colleagues from all over the world. "They wanted to hear what we wanted for the circulator pumps of the future, and it turned into some great exciting talks. It turned out that there was a great desire across national borders for a circulator pump that was both easy to replace, start up and service, and that made a positive difference to the green transition. And I have to say that the development people from Grundfos have listened. We have subsequently been allowed to test prototypes, which I can only say live up to everything we wanted – not least for quick start-up and optimal operation. ALPHA2 GO will change, improve and make our work easier," says Thomas Eggertsen, who adds that product development that focuses on simplifying installation and monitoring helps to increase job satisfaction.

Guided Setup – it only takes 2 - 3 minutes
There are only a few questions that the installer needs to consider in the Grundfos GO app before the new pump is set up exactly for the current installation. Thanks to intelligent control systems, the app finds the perfect balance between warmth and comfort while ensuring maximum performance of the system with the lowest possible energy consumption. The optimal setting is available either as proportional pressure, constant pressure, constant curve, constant flow or an upgraded AUTOADAPT function for both radiators and underfloor heating.
Clear documentation for the customer
All the settings made by the installer are collected in a report that can be sent digitally to the customer as documentation. In addition, the ALPHA2 GO also continuously collects data about the temperature of the water, the pump's operating time, head and flow, which the installer can use to identify faults or problems in the system when connecting the Grundfos GO app to the circulator pump. "Few customers think about their circulator pump – until the heat suddenly disappears. With ALPHA2 GO, we can solve the problem quickly and on site, and when we also talk about Grundfos Take Back, our arguments about energy-saving pumps and green transition take on an extra dimension. Our customers are super positive about the history of recycling and reusing the old circulator pumps as a means of CO2 reduction and not least as a social commitment. Grundfos has created a hit," concludes a rather impressed Thomas Eggertsen.
