Ours begins with our founder, Poul Due Jensen. He believed in the power of innovation, the value of always thinking ahead and in being responsible. His vision laid the foundation for our brand, our values and a purpose that we live each and every day.​​

A strong foundation guides us

Grundfos was established in 1945 by founder Poul Due Jensen in Denmark, who believed that there is no limit to what can be achieved together.

Today, we continue to believe that the combined talent, passion and effort of all Grundfos employees and our partners hold close to unlimited potential. 

A Lifetime in Grundfos

As a boy he ran around on the factory floor, following his father’s footsteps, leading him to one day run the company. A clear sense of purpose

When you join Grundfos, you become part of our brand and our shared commitment to make a difference in the world. Our purpose is to pioneer solutions to the world's water and climate challenges and improve quality of life for people. 

Therefore, we have clear, long-term water and climate ambitions to do whatever is in our power to help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular 6 and 13.

  • Clean water and sanitation - We will halve our own water consumption by 2025. By 2030, we will have contributed to providing safely managed drinking water to 300 million people in need. In addition, through water efficiency and water treatment, we will have saved the consumption of 50 billion m3 of fresh water.

  • Climate action - We will halve our own CO2 emissions by 2025. By 2030, we aspire towards being 'climate-positive'.

Water2Life - our employee program

With more than €600.000 donated since 2010 and sustainable clean water solutions provided for more than 60,000 people, Water2Life is our powerful employee-initiated and employee-driven program. We have helped villages, schools, hospitals and farming communities with access to clean water, and we want to reach 100,000 people from 2020-2030.

We collect funds through all sorts of different activities. Volunteers arrange these activities together with their colleagues and combine cozy socialising with social responsibility. Showing support for the employee program, Grundfos matches every employee donation, essentially doubling the impact of our efforts.
